The Zim-Moz programme started in 2014 and about 113 students has since came from the different provinces of Mozambique for a 2weeks short course in English for Communication Skills, cultural exchange and sporting activities. Students were drawn from University of Pedagogics's institutions in Beira, Quelimane and Manica provinces, while others were from The Institute of Languages in Beira. All the students who came to Mutare Teachers' College successfully completed the course and were issued with certificates.

Educational Foundations Department



The Department of Educational Foundations is committed to the production of a secondary school teacher who is well versed in the various educational theories, committed to the needs of the learner and capable of fitting well into the dynamic local and global societies


The Educational Foundations department undertakes to provide the following:
•    Relevant, current and well researched information to the students all the time.
•    Meaningful and comprehensive marking of students’ assigned work and provide feedback within a fortnight (two weeks).
•    Attend to students, seeking consultation, within five minutes.
•    Guidance, supervision and marking of research projects within stipulated times.
•    Review of departmental syllabus and policy every two years.
